The present invention relates to a high value-added functional pharmaceutical composition, which has a liver protection function for alcoholic liver damage and can be safely used without toxicity and side effects by using a hot water extract of a Stauntonia hexaphylla fruit, which is a Korean natural resource. The pharmaceutical composition, of the present invention, containing, as an active ingredient, a crude extract or a nonpolar soluble extract of a Stauntonia hexaphylla fruit has an excellent liver protection function for alcoholic liver damage while having no side effects on the human body, and thus the crude extract of a Stauntonia hexaphylla fruit, which is a natural material, is used as an active ingredient, thereby being usable in liver protection for alcoholic liver damage and being safe without side effects even when taken for a long time.
