The disclosure discloses a method of triggering a specified operation and a device utilizing the same, and relates to the field of smart homes. The method comprises: obtaining signal quality of a wireless signal transmitted from a designated signal source and received by a receiving apparatus; acquiring, when a disruption in the signal quality is detected, a signal quality characteristic of the signal quality having the disruption; checking whether the acquired signal quality characteristic matches a preconfigured characteristic sample; and if so, triggering to execute a specified operation. The disclosure discloses determining passage of a person or object based on a disturbance in signal quality of a wireless signal received by the receiving apparatus, and triggering to execute a specified operation, leading to an effect of expanding applications of the wireless communication technology. |
