The invention relates to an oceanographical device for taking samples of water, comprising: a cylindrical body made of a single multilayer part; a closing system on each end, comprising a coupling element with side openings and a seat, and a rotating shaft and a pivoting piston with a semi-spherical head; a removable anchor; a plurality of water and gas inlets/outlets, including an upper one for the inflow of air or an inert gas; an intermediate outlet for water intake with dissolved and suspended material and a lower intake for particulate material that forms sediment. The device and the associated method of the invention mainly generate the following scientific and technical advantages: preventing subestimation of the parameters associated with the material that forms sediment; preventing incrustations of particles in same; independence in the closing force between both mouths; decrease in the solar heating of the sample.
