The present invention relates to a mounting assembly (1) for use in a cooking appliance (2) comprising a casing and functional components (3) inside the casing and a top plate. The mounting assembly (1) comprises a support (4) which accommodates the functional components (3) and elastic elements (5) which are disposed onto the support (4) so as to push the respective functional components (3) upwards against the top plate. The mounting assembly (1) of the present invention comprises at least one vertically extending centering pin (6) which is disposed onto the support (4) and adapted to be freely inserted into a counterpart hole (7) of the respective functional component (3) on the support (4) so as to position and align the same relative to the top plate.
