The present invention relates to an environmental monitoring system and method, and comprises: at least one environmental measurement device which is installed in a facility so as to measure environmental data of the facility; a gateway which receives environmental measurement information transmitted from the environmental measurement device through short range communication, transmits the environmental measurement information to a management server through a communication network, compares the environmental measurement information with predetermined environmental reference information, and transmits a warning alarm signal when it is determined that an environmental abnormality occurs; and the management server which performs integrated management of the gateway installed in each facility, compares environmental measurement information, received from the gateway, with the predetermined environmental reference information, and transmits an alarm signal to a warning device installed in the facility when it is determined that an environmental abnormality occurs, wherein the gateway and the management server may doubly determine whether an environmental abnormality occurs. |
