1. A folded antenna for a cylindrical battery, comprising:
a flexible substrate configured to be coupled to a cylindrical battery, the flexible substrate comprising an aperture disposed within the flexible substrate, the flexible substrate configured to allow the cylindrical battery to pass within the aperture and the flexible substrate configured to wrap the flexible substrate around the cylindrical battery; an antenna with a first terminal and a second terminal coupled to the flexible substrate; and an integrated circuit coupled to the first terminal and the second terminal, wherein the integrated circuit is a radio frequency identification chip or near field communication chip that comprises an analog to digital converter and a communication circuit, wherein the integrated circuit is configured to sense a condition of the battery and to signally communicate a condition of the battery to the antenna, wherein the antenna comprises an antenna trace creating at least one continuous loop, and wherein the aperture is disposed within the at least one continuous loop of the antenna trace.
