The present invention pertains to a plant that has a mutant-type cyclin F-box gene including a nucleotide mutation causing a non-conservative amino acid substitution in the cyclin F-box protein, and that has an improved sugar content in the fruit when compared to wild type. In addition, the present invention pertains to a parthenocarpic plant that has a mutant-type cyclin F-box gene including a nucleotide mutation causing a non-conservative amino acid substitution in the cyclin F-box protein.
