This heat pump system includes: a compressor (13) which compresses and discharges refrigerant; a depressurization unit (17, 18) which depressurizes the refrigerant; an outdoor unit (16) which performs heat exchange between the refrigerant and outer air; an evaporator (15) which evaporates the refrigerant; a condenser (14) which condenses the refrigerant; an internal heat exchanger (20); an accumulator (19) which separates the refrigerant into gas refrigerant and liquid refrigerant; and a flow passageway modification unit (21, 22, 23, 25) which modifies the path along which the refrigerant flows. The internal heat exchanger includes a high-pressure flow passageway (20a) through which high-pressure refrigerant flows and a low-pressure flow passageway (20b) through which low-pressure refrigerant flows, and causes heat exchange between the refrigerant flowing through the high-pressure flow passageway and the refrigerant flowing through the low-pressure flow passageway. The flow passageway modification unit modifies the path between a cooling path and a heating path. According to the heat pump system, cooling performance and heating performance can be increased. |
