Various embodiments provide a method for identifying a short-circuit of an organic light-emitting diode (12, 14, 16, 18) of a light-emitting diode string (20). In said method, an alternating voltage is applied to the light-emitting diode string (20), the amplitude of said voltage being at least partially lower than the sum of the threshold voltages of all organic light-emitting diodes (12, 14, 16, 18) of the light-emitting diode string (20). At least one operating value of an electrical operating variable of the light-emitting diode string (20) is detected. The presence of a short-circuit is identified if the detected operating value lies outside a pre-defined threshold value. |
