1. An image processing method which is executed in an image processing apparatus for laying out an image, comprising:
analyzing a feature amount for each of a plurality of images as layout target candidates; determining, based on the analyzed feature amounts of the plurality of images, a kind of scene into which the plurality of images are classified; performing image evaluation in accordance with an evaluation criterion corresponding to the determined kind of scene; and selecting an image to be laid out from the plurality of images based on the evaluation for each of the plurality of images.
