The gripping device (1) according to the present invention that can be used for installing and attaching a clamping screw (101) inside a U-shaped link connector (102) of a polyaxial or monoaxial pedicle screw (103) for immobilising a link rod (104) of an osteosynthesis device (100) known per se, comprises: ⋅ locking means (2) that come to bear on the link connector (102), making it possible to ensure the coaxiality of the main axes of said gripping device (1) with those of the link connector (102) and making it possible to hold the link rod (104) inside said link connector (102); ⋅ and means (3) for unlocking the gripping device (1) after installing and tightening the clamping screw (101) inside the link connector (102).
