The collision detection device (1, 1A) for a vehicle is equipped with: multiple impact detection sensors (31, 711a, 82) which are attached to the back of a bumper cover (22) disposed on a front part of a vehicle (VE) while arranged side by side in the vehicle width direction, and which detect physical quantities (Fipt) corresponding to an impact applied to the bumper cover; and a collision determination part (63) for detecting, on the basis of the physical quantities detected by the impact detection sensors, the occurrence of a collision with the bumper cover which requires activation of a protection device (5) for protecting the collided object. The collision detection device is equipped with: multiple temperature sensors (32, 711b, 83) which are arranged side by side in the vehicle width direction so as to correspond to the positions where the respective impact detection sensors are attached to the back of the bumper cover, and which detect temperatures (Tbmp) of the bumper cover at the corresponding positions in the vehicle width direction; and a detection sensitivity change part (62) for changing the sensitivity for the collision detection by the collision determination part on the basis of temperatures detected by the temperature sensors which are disposed at corresponding positionw to the impact detection sensors which detected the physical quantities. |
