The present invention addresses the problem of providing: an organic thin-film transistor exhibiting excellent carrier mobility and having an organic semiconductor film produced by using a compound exhibiting excellent solubility in an organic solvent; a compound; an organic thin-film transistor material that uses said compound; an organic thin-film transistor composition; a method for producing the organic thin-film transistor; and an organic semiconductor film. The organic semiconductor film (organic semiconductor layer) in this organic thin-film transistor contains a compound that has a molecular weight of 3,000 or less and is represented by general formula (1) or general formula (2). In general formula (1) and general formula (2), one or more of R5-R8 are groups that are not hydrogen atoms.
