Friction between a piston and an end part of a driving shaft and end part of a driven shaft had resulted in lower machine efficiency or wearing of the components. The present invention addresses this by means of a gear pump (1) provided with: a casing (6); a driving gear (2) and a driven gear (3) that are configured as helical gears, engage with each other inside the casing (6), and divide the inside of the casing (6) into a high-pressure space and a low-pressure space; and a driving-side space (16) and a driven-side space (116) that respectively face an end part of a driving shaft (4) and an end part of a driven shaft (5) and can reach a higher pressure than the pressure in the low-pressure space, said driving shaft pivotally supporting the driving gear (2), and said driven shaft pivotally supporting the driven gear (3). The end part (4b) of the driving shaft is pushed in a predetermined direction by a working fluid supplied into the driving-side space (16), and the end part (5b) of the driven shaft is pushed in the predetermined direction by working fluid supplied into the driven-side space (116). |
