A gene encoding a serine O-bound galactose transferase is identified, and a method for adding an O-bound galactose using a transformant that is produced with the gene is provided. Also provided is a method for inhibiting the addition of an O-bound sugar chain in a transgenic plant, which can be achieved by inhibiting the expression of the gene. Further provided is an SGT enzyme activity measurement method. |
