PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a one-side protected polarizing film having a transparent protective film on only one surface of a polarizer, in which the polarizer has predetermined optical characteristics and can suppress generation of piercing cracks and nano-slits even when the polarizer has a thickness of 10 μm or less.SOLUTION: A polarizer 1 comprises a polyvinyl alcohol resin, has a thickness of 10 μm or less, and is configured to have optical characteristics represented by a transmittance T of the polarizer as a single body and a polarization degree P satisfying conditions of formula P>-(10-1)×100 (where T<42.3) or P≥99.9 (where T≥42.3). A transparent layer 3 having a compressive elastic modulus of 0.1 GPa or more at 80°C is formed on the other surface of the polarizer 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
