Provided is a coating composition which is capable of being cured at a low temperature and which forms a thin film having hydrophilicity and high reactivity. This coating composition comprises a tetraalkoxysilane and/or a condensate thereof, a silicate and a surfactant. The thin film obtained from this coating composition has excellent adhesion to substrates, and it is possible to laminate thereon a layer containing a hydrolysis condensate of a metal surfactant, an inorganic film, etc. |
