PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured to prevent reduction in accuracy of detecting resistance of a transfer member when a distance between conveyed recording media is shorter than a peripheral length of the transfer member.SOLUTION: When a length of a sheet member P is Lp, a distance between conveyed sheet members P is a distance Li, and a peripheral length of a secondary transfer roll 86 is a peripheral length Lr, a control unit 104 conveys the sheet member P to a secondary transfer position so as to satisfy a relational expression (Lp+Li≠N×Lr). When the distance Li between the conveyed sheet members P is shorter than the peripheral length Lr, reduction in accuracy of detecting resistance of the secondary transfer roll 86 can be prevented. |
