The converter has a circuit arrangement (11) connected with a voltage intermediate circuit (7) connected to a voltage divider (13) having a voltage tap (15) for tapping off a partial voltage to an input of an analog-to-digital converter for generating a voltage digital value based on divided voltage. An output of the analog-to-digital converter is connected to a control circuit with an interposition of an electrically isolating transmission unit for transmission of the voltage value. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a power converter.
