443,515. Control systems for incandescent lamps. CONCORDIA ELEKTRIZITATS AKT.-GES., 231, Munsterstrasse, Dortmund, Germany. Jan. 3, 1935, No. 183. Convention date, March 3, 1934. [Class 38 (iv)] [See also Group XI] Emergency systems.-A portable electric-battery lamp provided with either an accumulator or a galvanic battery is provided with a mainscontrolled switch, so that in the event of the mains current failing the battery lamp is lighted automatically and is extinguished automatically upon the mains current being restored. In the example, a bimetallic strip e is mounted in the circuit between the accumulator terminals and the lamp bulb, the end of the strip e being held apart from a contact point i when the mains current from contact pins h, h<1> circulates through the winding g of the strip. A master switch is provided in the form of a screw k adapted normally to depress a contact spring f on to one terminal of the battery to establish connection between the latter and a conductor connecting the spring f to the fixed end of the bimetallic strip. The lamp may be used as an ordinary battery hand-lamp. |
