PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breakwater which is not overturned even if it is attacked by large waves, and of which a dam body can return to an original position even if the dam body is slidably pushed by wave force.SOLUTION: In a slide type breakwater 1, a bed-sill 2 is installed on a basic surface which is flatly constructed by dredging a sea bottom 5. A ditch type storage part 20 is formed in a central part of the bed-sill 2. Extending parts 21 are projected at both sides of the storage part 20, respectively, and the extending parts 21 are embedded in backfill soil such as dredge soil. A dam body 10 provided with wheels 16 in its bottom is installed in the storage part 20. When external force acts on the dam body 10, the dam body moves slidably to convert energy of the external force into kinetic energy and is prevented from overturning, thus maintaining breakwater function. |
