PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric element whose insulation resistance and piezoelectric strain constant are high.SOLUTION: The provided piezoelectric element includes: a piezoelectric layer consisting of a piezoelectric porcelain possessing crystal particles including barium titanate as a main component and grain boundaries formed in-between the crystal particles and including bismuth, zirconium, tin, copper, and either of niobium and antimony in a state where the average diameter of the crystal particles is 1-10 μm and where the porosity thereof is 1% or less; and a conductor layer configured on the primary surface of the piezoelectric layer. It accordingly becomes possible to obtain a piezoelectric element whose insulation resistance and piezoelectric strain constant are high. |
