PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of a vehicle capable of securely prevent collision with a front obstacle by suppressing acceleration or start of the vehicle on the basis of an image photographed by a monocular camera without causing the vehicle to move backward on an up-hill grade road.SOLUTION: A control device (1) of a vehicle comprises: an accelerator opening sensor (8) for detecting a degree of accelerator opening; a monocular camera (6) for photographing a front view of the vehicle; and an ECU (22) for controlling a drive power generated by an engine (18) as well as determining presence of any front obstacle on the basis of an image photographed by the monocular camera during traveling of the vehicle. If the ECU cannot determine presence of a front obstacle, it will at first suppress a drive power to a drive power less than a requested drive power T, and then, increase the drive power until the vehicle starts to move forward. When the vehicle starts to move forward, if the ECU determines that there is no front obstacle, it will cause the requested drive power Tgenerated, while if it determines that there is one or more obstacles when the vehicle starts to move forward, it will suppress the drive power to a drive power Twhich is less than the requested drive power Tand great enough to prevent the vehicle from moving backward.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
