PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for suspension which allows flexibly supporting a gimbal area in which a head slider is mounted.SOLUTION: A substrate 1 for suspension includes an insulating layer 10, a metal support layer 11 provided on one surface of the insulating layer 10, and a wiring layer 12 provided on the other surface of the insulating layer 10. The metal support layer 11 includes a metal support layer front end part 33 fixed to a load beam 43, and a tongue part 31, and the insulating layer 10 includes a gimbal area forming part 10a. A gimbal area 2a is formed of the tongue part 31 and the gimbal area forming part 10a, and a limiter part 20A comprising a single layer of a protection layer 20 is provided between the gimbal area 2a and the metal support layer front end part 33. |
