[Class 144 (ii)] The tread of a pneumatic tyre cover, particularly of a tyre cover for racing cycles, consists of a central peripheral rib 2 and other ribs 1, 3 formed by spaced parallel grooves 4, 5, 6, 7, these ribs being flanked at each side of the tyre by zones 8 presenting a series of small projections, each of which has angular faces meeting in a point. Below these small projections, small circumferential grooves and ribs 10, 11 are provided. The tread may be of substantially black rubber mix, to contrast with a light coloured transparent or translucent rubber at the base of the wall 12 and round the beads. The central rib 2 is approximately double the width of the adjacent ribs 1, 3.</p> |
