444,727. Rolling plated sheets. DEUTSCHE ROHRENWERKE AKT.-GES., 69, Breitestrasse, Dusseldorf, Germany. July 3, 1935, No. 18964. Convention date, July 3, 1934. [Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] In plating iron or steel sheets with a covering of copper or similar metal by rolling, spreading of the copper is prevented by first rolling the composite pack at a lower peripheral speed (30-40 per cent lower) than normal rolling speed for iron &c. only, and with less than normal cross-section reduction (i.e. at 8-12 per cent reduction) and then re-rolling at the same reduced peripheral speed, but with 14¢-16 per cent reduction of cross-section. Ordinary rolling is then continued if necessary after removal of the usual protecting plates. Specification 444,728 is referred to. |
