PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of stably producing a coke having a high strength even when non- or slightly-caking coal with a low coalification degree of the total expansion ratio of 0% is used.SOLUTION: In a method for producing a coke including charging a mixed coal mixed with non- or slightly-caking coal with a low coalification degree into a coke oven, and dry-distilling the mixed coal, the non- or slightly-caking coal with the low coalification degree is coal of the total expansion ratio of 0% out of coals having a volatile content of 30 mass% or more and a vitrinite reflectance of 0.9 or less. The method includes: determining a high-speed temperature-raising expansion specific volume for each brand of the non- or slightly-caking coal with the low coalification degree; changing a void-filling ratio of the mixed coal for each of the brands; determining an optimal ground particle size; previously determining a relationship between the high-speed temperature-raising expansion specific volume and the void-filling ratio of the mixed coal for each of the ground particle sizes; determining the ground particle size from the relationship according to the high-speed temperature-raising expansion specific volume of the non- or slightly-caking coal with the low coalification degree to be used and the void-filling ratio of the mixed coal determined by the operation condition; and grinding the non- or slightly-caking coal with the low coalification degree to be used so that its ground particle size becomes the determined ground particle size.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
