Provided herein is a composition that includes a compound (I), and one or more diester compounds (II) selected from compounds represented by formula 1 and compounds represented by formula 2. The compound (I) and the diester compound (II) are contained in X parts by mass and Y parts by mass, respectively, with respect to 100 parts by mass of a polyvinyl acetal having an average amount of residual hydroxyl group of 15 to 50 mol%. In the composition, X = 3 to 100, Y = 5 to 60, and X + Y = 42 to 120. The composition does not involve bleeding of a plasticizer even when stored at low temperature, or cause problems due to extraction of a component even when brought into contact with water. The composition can thus develop desirable sound insulation performance when used as an intermediate film for laminated glass. |
