A floor cleaning steam device comprises a main body 2 arranged substantially vertically and a body (3, fig 1) for floor cleaning connected to the main body 2, wherein the main body 2 comprises a reservoir 4 adapted to be filled with water and a container 5 comprising ion exchange resin in fluid communication with the reservoir 4, the ion exchange resins including silver ions. In this way, the device of the present invention is able to prevent the bacteria proliferation that is usually created in a humid environment after treatment and to reduce the water hardness thus a reduction of limestone formation is obtained and the device life is lengthened. The ion exchange resin is preferably composed of at least one polymeric matrix consisting of granules with the silver ions acting to achieve the ion exchange are trapped or incorporated into the matrix. |
