The dental handpiece (1) has one component (2) and another component (3), where former component has two light sources (6,7). The latter component has one optical waveguide (11), which conducts the light beams (12) emitted from the light sources to a light outlet (13) of the latter component. The optical waveguide is arranged in a beam paths of light sources in one and another modes. The dental handpiece is adjustable between two modes by a mechanical adjusting unit through mechanical displacement of latter component relative to the former component.
