PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an ester-based lubricant base oil for a liquid bearing configured to reduce decomposition of the lubricant base oil during use of a spindle motor; and a spindle motor using the lubricant base oil.SOLUTION: A mixed ester obtained by blending 2,4-dialkyl glutaric acid diester and 3-methyl-1,5-pentanediol diester in a predetermined ratio is used as a lubricant base oil for a liquid bearing. |
