The invention provides a liquid discharge device and a control method thereof. The liquid discharge device comprises a driving signal generation portion generating driving signals and a liquid discharge head, wherein driving signals comprises signals in first signal area and a second signal area, wherein no preset potential is arranged in the first signal area, and a second signal area is not included in the first signal area but includes a potential change area. The length of the first signal area after the longest second signal area of the second signal areas equals to the length of the longest second signal area. Adverse effect caused by residual vibration of piezoelectric element is suppressed. |
