A cell culture apparatus is provided, in which a culture vessel for automatic culturing itself is made to be a closed-system structure, its inside can be sterilized, and cells are cultured by externally supplying driving force. A closed-system flow channel structure for each module, the arrangement of instruments with a drive base as the center, and an intermediate chamber provided between a refrigerator 14 and a cell culture chamber 13 are used. The cell culture apparatus 10 includes: a plurality of flow channels for conveying a culture medium and a cell fluid; a drive base which is arranged within a first space and in which a pump 23, a valve 24, and a tank 26 are installed; a culture vessel which is connected to the drive base through the flow channel; a culture vessel base 21 which is arranged in a second quadrant with respect to the first space and in which the culture vessel 20 is installed; a refrigerator 14 for refrigerating the culture medium and the cell fluid; and an intermediate chamber 16 which is arranged below the drive base and in a fourth quadrant with respect to the first space for separating the refrigerator 14 and a cell culture chamber 13 installed therein. |
