A polarizing plate for an OLED includes a polarizer, a protective film on an upper side of the polarizer, and a stack structure of a λ/4 reverse dispersion retardation film and a positive C plate on a lower side of the polarizer. An optical display includes the polarizing plate. The polarizing plate minimizes the difference in retardation at all lateral viewing angles, and can therefore reduce or suppress lateral color shift causing the viewer to see different colors, depending on the lateral viewing angle.

1. A polarizing plate for an organic light emitting diode (OLED) display, the polarizing plate comprising:
a polarizer; a protective film on a first side of the polarizer; and a stack structure comprising a λ/4 reverse dispersion retardation film and a positive C plate on a second side of the polarizer, wherein the stack structure has a degree of biaxiality (NzA) at a wavelength of 550 nm of about 0.8 or less, as calculated using Equation 2:
NzA=(nxA−nzA)/(nxA−nyA)  Equation 2 wherein nxA, nyA and nzA are refractive indices in x-, y- and z-axis directions, respectively, at a wavelength of 550 nm.
