1. A pet medicament composition comprising:
(a) a film layer having two opposed surfaces; (b) a solvent-free powder matrix coating on at least one of said surfaces; (c) said film layer comprising at least one flavoring composition to render the film palatable to a predetermined pet, wherein the predetermined pet is selected from the group consisting of cats, dogs, guinea pigs, mice, hamsters, ferrets, reptiles, sheep, cows, horses, goats, rabbits, swine, apes, and primates, and wherein either the film layer or the powder matrix coating, but not both, comprises at least one pet medicament; wherein said film layer with said powder matrix coating on at least of said surfaces is not self-adhering; and (d) at least one stabilizing agent is selected from the group consisting of xanthan gum, locust bean gum and carrageenan; said film layer being formulated to disintegrate in the pet's mouth after being applied therein wherein the flavoring composition is selected from the group consisting of catnip, poultry, chicken, turkey, onion, garlic, meat, animal products, chicken meat, chicken fat, beef hide, beef meat, beef fat, bacon, pork skin, pork meat, pork fat, dried meat floss, liver, an extract of smoked ham, an extract of chicken, an extract of beef, an extract of a meat by-product, an extract of ham hocks, an extract of shank ends, an extract of turkey, an extract of oxtail, phosphoric acid, fat and hexamic acid, fat and phosphoric acid, fat and citric acid, phosphoric acid and citric acid, tetrasodium pyrophosphate and a combination of these flavorings. |
