[Class 12 (i)] The periphery of a dust cover plate 5 is wedged between the relatively inclined sides 7, 8 of an annular groove in a bearing element 1 whereby the plate does not contact with the bottom of the groove and distortion of the outer surface of the element during assembling is avoided. The plate is initially of conical form and is provided at its periphery with spaced projections 6 which are wedged between the groove walls when the plate is flattened by axial pressure In a plane cylindrical bearing Fig. 7, the inner and outer bearings carry plates 25, 33. Grease in the chamber between the plates 33 is forced by centrifugal action through holes 36 to lubricate the bearing and is discharged into chambers bounded by the end plates 25 where it builds up a pressure and assists in forcing the grease in the inner chamber outwardly. |
