One or more embodiments include paper, methods of making paper, compositions, and the like, are provided. In various exemplary embodiments described herein, a paper material may be formed by treating a cellulosic fiber or an aqueous pulp slurry, with a strength including a polyamine resin.

A paper formed by a method comprising treating a cellulosic fiber with a strength system comprising a polyamine resin in combination with an aldehyde-functionalized polymer resin, wherein the weight ratio of the aldehyde-functionalized polymer resin to polyamine is about 8:1 to 2.5:1, wherein the polyamine resin includes a polyamine or a polyamidoamine, wherein the polyamine or the polyamidomine is not a polyamidoamineepichlorohydrin or polyamine polyamidoamine epichlorohydrin, wherein the paper has a higher dry strength as compared to a paper that has not been treated with the strength system.
