A control circuit that controls a switching element in a switching power supply unit, the control circuit comprising: a controller connected to the switching element; a signal generating circuit connected to an input part provided for the controller; a reference voltage source connected to the signal generating circuit; and a comparator having a first input terminal to which an output voltage is input from the switching power supply unit, a second input terminal to which a comparison signal is input from the signal generating circuit, and an output terminal connected to the signal generating circuit and to the input part provided for the controller; wherein the comparison signal is created according to an output signal from the comparator and to a reference voltage of the reference voltage source, the comparison signal is raised when the output signal from the comparator is switched from a second level to a first level, the comparison signal is lowered with a first inclination during a period in which the output signal from the comparator is at the first level, the comparison signal is further lowered when the output signal from the comparator is switched from the first level to the second level, and the comparison signal is raised with a second inclination during a period in which the output signal from the comparator is at the second level.
