摘要 A thermal release element having a container body with an outer wall formed from a frangible material and a hollow space enclosed by the outer wall and enclosing a release fluid. The body is expanded in an axial direction with a tubular middle section extending in the axial direction and two end sections at each axial end. The middle section, as seen in a sectional plane transverse to the axial direction, has an outer contour of the outer wall that deviates from a circular or oval contour. The end sections each have a circular or an oval contour of the outer wall. Transition zones are provided between the middle and end sections where the outer contour of the outer wall transitions from the shape of the middle section deviating from a circular or oval shape, into the circular or oval shape of the end sections.
