A cell stack device according to this disclosure is provided with: a cell stack formed by arranging a plurality of cells; and a manifold in which one end of each of the plurality of cells is fixed with a sealing material and which supplies a reaction gas to the plurality of cells. The cells each have: a support substrate having a length direction; an element part that is stacked on the support substrate and that is composed of a fuel electrode, a solid electrolyte layer, and an air electrode; and an intermediate layer that is disposed between the solid electrolyte layer and the air electrode, that extends to the one end of the cells, and that has a higher porosity than the solid electrolyte layer. At the one end of each of the cells, the intermediate layer has an exposed area that is exposed from the air electrode, and the sealing material is provided on the exposed area. |
