[Solution] A method for producing a reverse osmosis membrane 1 according to the present invention comprises: a coating film formation step wherein a coating film that is soluble in a specific solvent is formed on the surface of a porous supporting base 2 that is insoluble in the solvent; a carbon film formation step wherein a carbon film 3 is formed on the coating film in an atmosphere containing a rare gas and a nitrogen gas by a physical vapor deposition method that uses carbon as a target material; and a dissolution removal step wherein the coating film is dissolved and removed by means of the solvent after the formation of the carbon film 3.
