This information recording method is provided for a system (1) that includes a first device (20) having a storage unit (23), and a second device (10). The information recording method includes a first recording step in which the first device records encryption key information specific to a portable recording medium (50) into the portable recording medium while storing the encryption key information in a storage unit, a second recording step in which the second device uses the encryption key information recorded in the portable recording medium to encrypt content information and record the encrypted content information into the portable recording medium, and a reproduction step in which the first device decodes and reproduces the content information recorded in the portable recording medium using the encryption key information stored in the storage unit.
