摘要 A method for providing connection information between a first communication device and a second communication device is described. At least one purposely corrupted packet that includes a purposely corrupted packet attribute is generated by the first communication device. The at least one purposely corrupted packet is transmitted by the first communication device to the second communication device via a port coupled to a communications network. A count of packets that are transmitted, the count of packets including the at least one purposely corrupted packet and selected additional packets, is generated by the first communication device. An indication of the count of the at least one purposely corrupted packet and the selected additional packets that are transmitted from the first communication to the second communication device via the port is provided to the second communication device.
