A curtain, useful with an X-ray inspection or irradiation system, for shielding an entrance or exit opening of a cabinet-style radiation-containment enclosure having a conveyor belt for transporting objects into, through and out of an inspection or irradiation area arranged inside the enclosure, the curtain comprising:
a plurality of elongate elements, each elongate element provided with an eyelet for hanging and comprising a straight rod with a convex outwardly rounded cross-sectional profile and a smooth low friction surface, wherein the eyelets allow the elongate elements to be suspended vertically, with the elongate elements arranged adjacent to each other for independent movement when pushed by the objects moving through the curtain.
