Bodywear apparatus configured to be worn by a human user and attachable to footwear of the human user in order to augment the abilities of the lower limbs of the user is disclosed. In another aspect, footwear apparatus configured to be worn by a human user in order to augment the abilities of the lower limbs of the user is disclosed. Such bodywear apparatus and footwear apparatus are configured to reduce the effort a user must exert and improve the user's performance during walking, running, hiking, marching, and various other gaits as well as jumping, hopping, and other activities. In an aspect, bodywear apparatus further comprises a supplemental power device configured to further augment the user's abilities by activating during portions of the user's gait cycle.

1. Footwear comprising:
a. a footwear body; b. the footwear body having at least one tension member receiving anchor; c. a rotatable collar yoke capable of rotating in the sagital plane in dorsi flexion and plantar flexion relative to the footwear body; d. the rotatable collar yoke having at least one tibia member receiving anchor;in combination with bodywear comprising:
a. at least one tibia member attachable and detachable by means of the tibia member receiving anchor to the rotatable collar yoke; b. at least one tension member attachable and detachable by means of the tension member receiving anchor to the footwear body; c. at least one supplemental power element connected in series with the at least one tension member;wherein said footwear is capable of transmitting forces received through the tibia member and the tension member to induce sagital plane pivotal forces in the footwear body relative to the collar yoke and thereby transmit force through the footwear body and footwear sole to the ground.
