The invention relates to a cooling device for cooling a shrink-fit chuck for accommodating a tool or a workpiece, having an annular cooling adapter for establishing contact with the outer contour of the shrink-fit chuck and dissipating heat from the shrink-fit chuck by thermal conduction. The invention makes provision for the cooling adapter to have a plurality of separate contact elements (18, 19) which are made of a thermally conductive material, are distributed over the circumference of the cooling adapter and, during operation, are in contact with the outer contour of the shrink-fit chuck in order for the heat to be dissipated by thermal conduction from the shrink-fit chuck to the contact elements (18, 19). The invention also makes provision for the individual contact elements (18, 19) each to be displaceable in the radial direction and to be pivotable in the radial plane, so as to be adapted to the external diameter and the cone angle of the respective shrink-fit chuck. |
