Provided are a display device and functioning method thereof. The display device comprises a first display panel (101), a second display panel (102), and a backlight source (103). The first display panel (101) is flexibly connected to the second display panel (102) and disposed at a light-exiting side of the backlight source (103). A light-exiting surface of the first display panel (101) can be disposed immediately adjacent and opposite to a first surface of the second display panel (102). The second display panel (102) forms a light-shading region (108) and an optically transmissive region (109), and the first display panel (101) forms a left-eye image corresponding to the left eye of a viewer and a right-eye image corresponding to the right eye of the viewer. The light-shading region (108) and the optically transmissive region (109) enable the left-eye image to be viewable only to the left eye of the viewer and the right-eye image to be viewable only to the right eye of the viewer. The display device can effectively adjust 3D display.
