A leg-rope assembly for a surfboard or the like comprising a cuff to engage the leg of the rider, and a high-pull-force magnet for repelling sharks and other elasmobranchs. Also disclosed is an ankle horn for use with a leg-rope assembly, the horn comprising a base member and main body portion defining a compartment.
