1. An extension bracket adapted to attach in a lengthwise, self-supporting fashion a length of wire shelving to an existing wire shelf, the wire shelving and existing wire shelf generally comprising a plurality of support wires extending along the length of the wire shelving/shelf and a plurality of stringer wires overlaying the support wires and extending perpendicular to the support wires, defining the width of the wire shelving/shelf, and serving as the upper surfaces or loading surfaces of said wire shelving/shelf; said extension bracket having an upper surface and a lower surface, a fore portion for providing a seat in its upper surface for accepting a wire shelf segment in a width-wise orientation, an aft portion for engagement with an existing wire shelf, and fore and aft ends; wherein the upper surface of the fore portion has one or more recesses for receiving in a width-wise orientation a length of wire shelving. |
