A solar pool heating system in which a solar collector is connected to the pool by flow pipe from the pool and a return pipe to the pool. A pump is located in the flow pipe and a first temperature sensor is located in or adjacent to the solar collector 5 and a second temperature sensor is located adjacent to the pump and includes a solar powered transmitter. A controller communicates with both temperature sensors and the pump and programmed to operate the pump when the temperature differential between the first and second sensors is greater than a predetermined value. The sensitivity of the receiver to open the solar pump relay 10 may be increased by introducing an end of day countdown sequence. This is a novel way of overcoming the problem of pump overrun that exists with a wireless temperature transmitter on the roof. |
